My main interest lies in technology applications in the business world and the way organizations should change to benefit from these applications. In particular, I am interested in the following three aspects introduced by leaders in the fields of technology and management:

Very few companies are using digital technology for new processes that radically improve how they function, that give them the full benefit of all their employees' capabilities, and give them speed of response they will need to compete in the emerging high-speed business world. Most companies don't realize that these changes are now available to everyone. Though at heart most business problems are information problems, almost no one is using information well. We have to infuse our organizations with a new level of electronic-based intelligence, like the human nervous system, it triggers reflexes in order to react quickly to danger or need. This system effects the three major elements of any business: commerce, knowledge management, and business operations. (Bill Gates)·

Internet Technologies will profoundly alter the structure of the company and of many business practices. But they will do so only if accompanied by capable management, with the support of empowered and intelligent employees. Getting corporate structure right will be just as important for making the best use of Internet technologies as acquiring the right software and hardware. (Frances Cairncross)·

The truly revolutionary impact of the Information Revolution id just beginning to be felt, and that is e-commerce. It is profoundly changing economies, markets, and industry structures; products and services and their flow; consumer segmentation, consumer values, and consumer behavior; jobs and labor markets. But the impact may be even greater on societies and politics and, above all, on the way we see the world and ourselves in it. (Peter Drucker)

Incorporating all the knowledge that I have reviewed with the different work experiences that I had (accounting, graphic design, web development…etc.) enforced my deep desire to continue further with my quest for a PhD degree. A phase at which I can survey the important research projects and findings on business technology and information issues, and start projecting a sound ethical framework that could help businesses, especially in developing countries, adopt different technologies into their operations.

"Knowledge is cumulative, and an inherited body of information and understanding is the jumping-off point for the development of more knowledge. We often speak of 'standing on the shoulders of giants," that is, of previous generations."
